Tinkers + Evers + Chance Original Tobacco Card Display
Product Description
This Baseball Hall of Fame trio (inducted 1946) ruled the Cubbies’ infield from 1902-1912, winning four National League Pennants and back-to-back World Series titles in 1907 and 1908. The last World Series Championship for the Cubs until 2016.
Issued from 1909-1911, "T-206" tobacco cards were distributed in cigarette/tobacco packs from the American Tobacco Company and remain a significant part of baseball’s rich history. Today, these tobacco cards are among the most sought after pieces in the collectors’ universe.
These particular cards hail from the same, exact set as the famous Honus Wagner card. In fact, if any of these cards depicted that Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Pirate shortstop, it would be worth millions of dollars. (The finest Wagner specimen changed hands a decade ago for $4 million and is estimated to be worth double that amount today.)
This three-card, framed set is unique in its own right, and the cards are in outstanding condition considering they are more than 100 years old. Display, with wood frame and matting, measures approximately 9” x 12”.
