Product Description
The Humbug Clock is named for its resemblance to a traditional piece of British candy. Made from alternate layers of opaque and transparent acrylic, the Humbug can be as colorful or plain as you want. Each tube is equipped with individual LEDs, which combine within the casing to give a constantly changing light display. Easily cycle through all colors or switch to ‘Colortime’ mode and display a different color for each tube that follows the number displayed.
Nixie tubes were invented in 1955, and were a means for early electronic devices to display numbers. They consist of a clear glass tube with the numbers from 0 – 9 stacked behind each other. The tube is filled with neon gas and then sealed. Each digit has its own connection, so when a small electrical current is applied, the neon gas around the digit is ionized and creates a distinctive orange glow. There is no heat produced, so the tubes can easily last up to 20 years.

The clock normally shows the time in HH:MM:SS but for 5 seconds every minute it swaps over to the date MM:DD:YY
