Product Description

Ottoman Empire, c. 18th - 19th century AD. A rare and large protective amulet, said to have been sewn into the armored clothing of an Ottoman warrior to provide protection during battle. Formed of a large 2.5” wide disc, with carefully-cut, scalloped edges, the face engraved with radiating designs around a central Ottoman inscription, two small suspension loops at top. Made of a debased silver, or base metal with silver wash, the metal exhibits a nice antique patina.
