Product Description
Pre-Columbian. Michoacán, ancient Mexico. Archaic Period c. 200 BC. An excellent ceramic female figurine, of the classic ”Double Eye" type. She is depicted with expressive features, wide eyes and pronounced nose, with long hair trailing down between her breasts. She has a rather worried expression upon her face. Old collection tag on back. Figurine measures 2 1/8” high. Provenance: Ex. Lorenz Borenstein, New Orleans, collected in the 1950’s. Mr. Borenstein ran a gallery in the French Quarter of New Orleans during this period.
